I own a sony vaio at the moment, however I am thinking of switching to a dell inspiron 1720 or 1721, has someone owned this, can you tell me if it’s a good choice? The sound quality, the speed etc. any info would be great thank you.

They are really good. They are fast, have decent speakers, and are great home computers. Another good brand to consider is Toshiba. Do not get a mac.
