I have added tha extra ram,it is compatable. So why is it taking longer to boot up than before? Is this normal?or is there a problem?Im running windows vista. It dosn’t seem to affect the rest of the normal running of my pc.

This is normal. The computer at boot up will perform a POST (PowerOnSelfTest) It tests all RAM available before it continues to load the OS. This has nothing to do with the RAM Speed. You could go into the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and select QuickBoot or NoRamTest if the options are available on your system.Vista is slow booting by nature, don’t blame the junk for it. If you look around, most of us in the computer world HATE VISTA for its many shortcomings.
