add laptop to ISP and desktop PC
Category: Ask and Answers, Popularity: 5% [?]How do I add a new laptop to my existing ISP and desktop PC?—by Vards
I’ve just bought a laptop, and want to use the internet with it just as I do with my desktop PC. I have ADSL connection (Australia) with an external modem supplied by my ISP Optusnet. (Siemens speedstream 4200). I’ve tried looking in other forums but the ‘computer speak’ is way above my head. In simple terms, do I buy a new modem or can I just type something into my laptop to connect into my current connection?

Hi there,Yes, you’ll need a wireless router only. Connect your desktop with LAN cable(cables ports come with the wireless router) and connect your laptop wirelessly. Or get a wireless adpter for your desktop to connect wirelessly as well! So your could place your wireless router in more strategic location for better coverage of both your desktop and laptop.
Cheers!
